Common Questions about Small Groups

If you still have questions about small groups, you're not alone. Read answers to common questions below to learn more.

What happens in small groups?

Our Small Groups are designed to help people take their next step in discipleship to Jesus doing life together with others in a small group. Every Small Group consists of three things: fellowship, prayer, and spiritual growth. Whether you are beginning a relationship with God or have followed Jesus your whole life, each Small Group will challenge and encourage you to take another step in following Jesus.

How often does a small group meet?

Our Small Groups meet for three seasons a year: Fall, Spring, and Summer. During these months, most groups meet once a week. Small Groups are meant to create a rhythm of reaching in to community, so find a group that fits your schedule best.

Where do small groups meet?

Deer Creek Small Groups meet all throughout the Southwest Denver area in homes, schools, workplaces, and the church building.

How long does a typical small group stay together?

Most Small Groups meet for a season. This way, new people can join groups easily and regularly. Also, the seasonal format allows you to try multiple groups each year. As relationships form, some groups choose to stay together for consecutive seasons, but new members are always welcome as space permits.

Is childcare available?

Childcare varies from group to group. When you search our directory for a group, the group profile will indicate if childcare is available. If you are in a season of financial hardship, Deer Creek will be happy to reimburse your childcare costs to help you attend a group.

What if I don't like the first group I try?

The truth is, not everyone will find the best fit with the first group they try. This is why we encourage you to select a few groups that interest you, contact the leaders and try out a couple different groups before choosing the best one for you. The simple strategy to finding success in Small Groups is to not give up. We believe there is a group that is right for everyone.
