We're glad you're interested in becoming a Small Group leader with Deer Creek Church!
Small Groups are an integral part of what we do as a church. We believe that sustained life change occurs as we are growing in a relationship with Jesus and one another. Small Group leaders create environments for others to develop and grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.
Since our Group leaders play such an important role, we take great care in selecting them. Please read through the information below to better understand the role of a leader, qualifications, and expectations. If, after consideration, you are interested in pursuing Small Group leadership, please follow the instructions below to complete the Group Leader Application. Once we receive your application, we will contact you for next steps. Should you have questions regarding any of the following information, please call us at 303-933-9300.
Role of a Small Group Leader
Small Group leaders are responsible for providing their groups with vision, direction, and support. Leaders are successful when they are personally growing in their intimacy with God, community with insiders, and influence with outsiders (Or UP, IN, and OUT as we always seek to live at DCC) and are leading their groups in such a way as to encourage the group members' growth in these three relationships as well. Each small group leader supported and resourced by a coach who guards the leader in prayer, guides the leader through difficult circumstances, and is committed to helping that leader personally be growing in his/her relationship with Jesus.
-Have a personal, growing relationship with Jesus Christ observed as a member of Deer Creek Church
-Recognize the Bible as the authority for their lives
-Have Small Group participation experience
-Have the time, emotional capacity, and moral/social discernment to lead a group
Our small group leaders are expected to live out our DCC 3G Network in their groups: Guard, Guide, and Grow:
Guard: Pray for your group members daily
Guide: Proactively communicate with and get to know your members throughout the small group semester.
Grow: Help each group member to take one "next step" in his/her relationship with Jesus over the course of this semester.
